<table data-card-size="large" data-view="cards" data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="files"></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td></td><td><strong>Importatori</strong></td><td>Ottieni report completi in pochi minuti grazie agli importatori.</td><td><a href="/files/-LfVX2Ib5yaKw2SecucI">/files/-LfVX2Ib5yaKw2SecucI</a></td><td><a href="/pages/-LfUiHAlN84EVST-oS6d">/pages/-LfUiHAlN84EVST-oS6d</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

# Panoramica e Requisiti

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

# Il Workspace

Ogni workspace contiene:

* Progetti.
* Tag del workspace.
* Impostazioni del workspace.

{% hint style="success" %}
{% endhint %}

{% content-ref url="/pages/-LfUiHAlN84EVST-oS6d" %}

[Interfaccia dell'Editor](/utilizzare-pesipiuma/introduzione-1/editor-interfaccia)
{% endcontent-ref %}

# Interfaccia dell'Editor

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

## Barra superiore

* **Elimina DXF**, **Elimina DXF+RUL** o **Elimina Excel**: rimuove i file sorgente caricati senza eliminare i dati editor salvati.
* **Aggiungi immagine** o **Sostituisci immagine**: aggiunge o sostituisce l'immagine report usata dai progetti Excel.
* **Ricalcola pezzi**: rilegge i file DXF/RUL caricati e ricostruisce la geometria del progetto dopo il controllo della preview.
* **Apri report**: apre il visualizzatore report e genera un PDF nuovo dai dati salvati.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Eliminare i file sorgente Excel conserva i dati editor salvati e l'immagine report.
{% endhint %}

## Barra taglie

* Nome pezzo.
* Coefficiente.
* Quantità.
* Arrotondamento peso.
* Gestione della sovrapposizione delle etichette sezione.

* Area.
* Coefficiente.
* Note.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

{% content-ref url="/pages/yWmDNcc8nj3RL1sUxRqP" %}

## Selezionare un pezzo

1. Aprire l'editor del progetto.
2. Selezionare una taglia dalla barra taglie.

3. Aggiornare i campi disponibili.
4. Cliccare **Salva**.

È possibile modificare:

* Nome pezzo.
* Coefficiente.
* Quantità.
* Arrotondamento peso.
* Gestione della sovrapposizione delle etichette sezione.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

* Coefficiente.
* Quantità.
* Arrotondamento del peso.
* Se aggiornare anche i coefficienti sezione.
* Gestione della sovrapposizione delle etichette sezione DXF.

* **Coefficiente**.
* **Area**, quando il campo è modificabile.
* **Nota**.

Le note sezione compaiono nel report generato.

## Rimuovere sezioni

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

## Numerazione sezioni

I numeri sezione provengono dai dati sorgente importati.

{% hint style="info" %}

{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

# Utilizzare gli Importatori

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

# DXF e RUL

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}

{% endhint %}

## File richiesti

Per importare un progetto DXF servono:

* Un file **.dxf** contenente la geometria del modello.
* Facoltativamente, un file **.rul** contenente le regole di sviluppo delle taglie del modello.

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

## Avviare un progetto DXF

1. Creare o aprire un progetto dalla Dashboard.

* **Area threshold** del pezzo: modifica la soglia solo per quel pezzo. Può valere per tutte le taglie oppure solo per la taglia selezionata.
* **Qty** e **Coeff**: impostano quantità e coefficiente iniziale del pezzo prima della conferma.
* **Avoid overlap**: applica la gestione delle etichette ravvicinate solo a quel pezzo.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

## Confermare l'importazione

## Ricalcolare i pezzi

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

## Scaricare o eliminare i file sorgente

* **Download DXF+RUL**: scaricare un archivio ZIP con il file DXF salvato e il file RUL, se è stato caricato.
* **Reset project data**: cancellare dati editor, preview, report e artefatti generati, mantenendo solo i file DXF/RUL caricati per riprocessare il progetto da zero.
* **Delete DXF** o **Delete DXF+RUL**: rimuovere i file sorgente caricati dal progetto.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

# Lectra - Modaris

Utilizzare l'importatore per Lectra - Modaris

## 1. Preparare i dati utilizzando Lectra Modaris

<figure><img src="/files/HqLJ1rD99SmkwbP3jB90" alt=""><figcaption><p>Scrivania | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

* Estrarre la prima sezione, **seguendo l'ordine dal basso verso l'alto**. Questa operazione è fondamentale per la corretta esportazione dei dati.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/nqnFAPwM6GJNIfy85D82" alt=""><figcaption><p>Estrazione partendo dalla prima sezione in basso del pezzo DIETRO | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/U0px3G0jwq8eYBy0R8tB" alt=""><figcaption><p>Sezioni estratte del pezzo DIETRO posizionate in basso a destra della scrivania | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

<div align="center"><img src="/files/SZ8XPyi0Ik6iIGzcBbiP" alt="Scheda Misure - Configura | Modaris V6"></div>

* Fare click sulle sezioni appena estratte, una alla volta, **partendo sempre dalla prima a sinistra**, in modo che vengano aggiunte alla **Scheda Misure** nello stesso ordine.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/U0px3G0jwq8eYBy0R8tB" alt=""><figcaption><p>Selezionare le sezioni del pezzo DIETRO partendo dalla prima estratta | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

### Esportare i dati

{% hint style="success" %}
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

* Ripetere queste operazioni per tutti i pezzi da impiumare, facendo attenzione a **rispettare sempre l'ordine di estrazione delle sezioni dal basso verso l'alto**. A procedura completata si avranno tanti file **.xls** o **.csv** quanti sono i pezzi interessati.

### Esempi

## 2. Importare i file generati da Optitex PDS in Pesipiuma

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

1. Aprire l'[Editor](/utilizzare-pesipiuma/introduzione-1/introduzione) del progetto.

Dopo l'importazione, Pesipiuma crea taglie, pezzi e sezioni nell'editor.

{% hint style="danger" %}
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

# Creare un Report

I report vengono generati dai dati salvati nell'editor.

* Geometria DXF elaborata.
* Eventuale sviluppo taglie RUL.
* Taglie, pezzi e sezioni salvati.
* Quantità pezzo, coefficienti, arrotondamento e note.
* Etichette sezione e modifiche alle annotazioni.
* Target weight, quando attivo.

* Dati area Excel importati.
* Taglia base selezionata.
* Immagine report.
* Posizioni etichetta salvate.
* Quantità pezzo, coefficienti, arrotondamento e note.
* Target weight, quando attivo.

{% endcontent-ref %}

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

# Immagine del report

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

## Aggiungere un'immagine durante l'importazione Excel

5. Cliccare **Importa**.

I formati immagine supportati sono:

* **.jpg** o **.jpeg**.
* **.png**.
* **.pdf**. Pesipiuma usa la prima pagina.

1. Aprire un progetto Excel nell'editor.
2. Cliccare **Aggiungi immagine** o **Sostituisci immagine** nella barra superiore.
3. Selezionare un file immagine supportato.

* **Orizzontale**.
* **Verticale**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

# Posizionare le etichette

* I **progetti Excel** usano etichette posizionate sopra l'immagine report caricata.

5. Usare i controlli zoom quando serve maggiore precisione.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

## Posizionamento etichette DXF

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

## Contenuto delle etichette

Le etichette generate possono includere:

* Numero sezione.
* Peso sezione.
* Nota sezione.
* Coefficiente sezione quando differisce dal coefficiente pezzo.
* Nome pezzo e peso totale pezzo.

# Visualizzare i report

![Barra principale](/files/-Lc50UpHr66MmmF-rRlZ)

## Aprire un report dall'editor

1. Aprire l'editor del progetto.
2. Verificare che il progetto abbia dati importati.

{% hint style="info" %}
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

# What is Pesipiuma?

Pesipiuma is an application that automates the calculations required to create padded garments and generates the reports needed during manufacturing.

![](/files/XioMPV9XhkXiUjZVFb6C)

Starting from DXF geometry or area data exported from supported CAD systems, Pesipiuma calculates padding weights according to the desired coefficients or target weight and generates easy-to-read PDF reports for production.

# Overview and Requirements

Overview of the service and basic technical requirements

## Service overview

> Pesipiuma was developed to speed up and automate the operations needed to create reports for the padding process of padded garments. The main goal is to organize padding weight data clearly and provide technicians with a PDF report that is easy to understand. Pesipiuma is also designed to quickly provide an accurate estimate of the down required when defining costs.

{% hint style="info" %}
**While padding weight calculation and report creation are handled by the application, the starting data must come from your CAD system. In v3 this can be DXF geometry with optional RUL grading data, or area data exported to Excel by a supported importer.**
{% endhint %}

{% content-ref url="/pages/DPSu8K9UviQX2COv18FZ" %}

# The Workspace

In Pesipiuma the **Workspace** is the shared area where projects are created, organized, edited, and opened for report generation.

Each workspace contains:

* Projects.
* Workspace tags.
* Workspace settings.

Access depends on workspace membership. A user must belong to a workspace before they can see its dashboard, projects, and reports.

Workspace tags help search and group projects by business needs such as brand, line, season, collection, customer, or development stage.

# Add a Project

A project is the workspace item that contains one garment model, its imported source data, the calculated sizes, pieces, sections, report image or DXF geometry, and the generated PDF report.

In Pesipiuma v3, creating a project only creates the project container. Source data is imported immediately after creation from the editor.

{% hint style="info" %}
The **New Project** action is available only to users with write access.
{% endhint %}

## Create a new project

1. Open the Dashboard.
2. Click **New Project**.
3. Enter the **Project name**.
4. Optionally enter a **Description**. This can be used for brand, line, season, or other report header information.
5. Optionally assign one or more **Tags**.
6. Click **Add Project**.

After the project is created, Pesipiuma opens the editor.

## Add source data

In the editor, choose how to start the project:

* **Import DXF**: upload a DXF file and, if available, the optional RUL grading file.
* **Import Excel**: upload Excel files generated by a supported CAD importer.

The import method becomes part of the project after the first successful import. A DXF project cannot later be switched to Excel import, and an Excel project cannot later be switched to DXF import.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Create a separate project if you need to test a different import method for the same garment model.
{% endhint %}

## Project fields

The **New Project** dialog includes:

* **Project name**: required. This is the name shown on the dashboard, in the editor, and in reports.
* **Description**: optional. Use it for brand, line, season, customer, or other report header context.
* **Tags**: optional. Tags organize and filter projects inside the workspace.

Project creation does not include:

* File upload.
* Size creation.
* Piece creation.
* Report generation.

Those operations happen later in the editor through the selected import workflow.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you already filtered the dashboard by tags, use the same tags in the **New Project** dialog to keep the new project organized with the current selection.
{% endhint %}

## Open the editor from the dashboard

1. Open the Dashboard.
2. Click the project card to open it.
3. Alternatively, open the card options menu and select **Open Editor**.

The editor opens in the same application window and shows the controls available for your workspace role.

[Editor Interface](/en/using-pesipiuma/introduction/editor-interface)
{% endcontent-ref %}

# Editor Interface

Main project editor interface for import, review, editing, and reports

The **Editor** is the project workspace where you import source files, review the generated pieces, adjust piece and section data, and open the PDF report.

The available controls depend on your workspace role and on the import method used by the project. Users with read-only access can inspect saved data and open reports generated from that data, while users with edit permissions can import files, recalculate geometry, edit values, and save changes before opening reports.

{% hint style="info" %}
An empty project first asks you to choose an import method. After the first import, the project remains linked to that method: **DXF** projects keep the DXF/RUL workflow, while **Excel** projects keep the Excel workflow.
{% endhint %}

## Top toolbar

The top toolbar contains the main project actions:

* **Dashboard**: return to the project dashboard.
* **Project name**: click the project name to rename it, if you have edit permissions.
* **Import DXF** or **Replace DXF**: upload the DXF file and optional RUL file for a DXF project.
* **Import Excel** or **Replace Excel**: upload Excel source files for an Excel project.
* **Download DXF+RUL** or **Download Excel**: download the saved source files from the file actions menu.
* **Delete DXF**, **Delete DXF+RUL**, or **Delete Excel**: remove uploaded source files without deleting the saved editor data.
* **Add Image** or **Replace Image**: add or replace the report image used by Excel projects.
* **Recalculate pieces**: reread the uploaded DXF/RUL files and rebuild the project geometry after reviewing the preview.
* **Open Report**: open the report viewer and generate a fresh PDF from saved data.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Deleting uploaded DXF/RUL files does not delete the editor data already saved in the project. To recalculate the geometry, import a new DXF file; report opening can still use the saved geometry snapshot when it exists. Deleting Excel source files keeps the saved editor data and report image.
{% endhint %}

## Size toolbar

The size toolbar appears below the main toolbar. It lets you move between the sizes available in the project.

The base size is marked in the size list. For DXF projects, the base size is defined by the processing result. For Excel projects, users with edit permissions can set the base size from the size toolbar.

When source data is available, users with edit permissions can also enable **Target Weight** from this toolbar. Target weight is entered in grams for the base size. When it is active, coefficients are shown as percentages because they represent the scaling used to reach the target weight.

{% content-ref url="/pages/VZOnN27oVB0DVbN0JGZo" %}
[Set a Target Weight](/en/using-pesipiuma/preliminary-operations/set-a-total-weight)

## Main work area

The main work area is organized around the selected size and piece.

### Pieces list

The left side shows the **Pieces List** for the selected size. Select a piece to inspect it in the center of the editor and show its sections on the right.

Pieces are sorted by their display name. When you switch size, the editor tries to keep the same piece selected in the new size.

### Piece preview

The center of the editor shows either:

* A grid of all pieces for the selected size, when no single piece is selected.
* The selected piece preview, when a piece is selected.

For DXF projects, the preview is generated from the processed piece SVG. For Excel projects, the editor uses the uploaded report image and saved label positions.

In the all-pieces grid or the **Pieces List**, users with edit permissions can Shift-click pieces and open **Edit details** to update coefficient, quantity, rounding, and DXF section label overlap handling in bulk. If one piece is already open, Shift-clicking another piece includes the open piece in the selection. Bulk edits are applied to the matching graded pieces across sizes.

### Piece details

When a piece is selected, click **Edit Piece** to update:

* Piece name.
* Coefficient.
* Quantity.
* Weight rounding.
* Section label overlap handling.

You can also choose whether the piece coefficient should update all section coefficients for that piece. When **Avoid section label overlap** is enabled, Pesipiuma may move close section numbers slightly apart in the preview and report.

### Sections

The right side shows the section list for the selected piece. For each section you can review or edit:

* Area.
* Coefficient.
* Notes.

Selecting a section highlights the matching area in the piece preview. Section notes and custom section coefficients are shown in the report output.

{% hint style="info" %}
For DXF projects, removing a section excludes it from the editor and from generated reports. If the piece exists across multiple sizes, you can choose whether to remove the matching section from all sizes.
{% endhint %}

## Import previews

When importing or replacing source files, Pesipiuma shows a preview before saving the new data to the project.

For DXF imports, the **DXF Preview** lets you review detected pieces and sections, adjust the area threshold, include or exclude sections, merge sections, choose section-label overlap handling globally or per piece, and confirm the result.

{% content-ref url="/pages/un3Ry3PJm5UmW5pDuzEx" %}
[DXF and RUL](/en/using-pesipiuma/using-the-importers/dxf)
{% endcontent-ref %}

For Excel imports, the **Excel Preview** lets you check the source data and select the base size before confirming the import.

## Read-only access

Users with read-only access can open projects, inspect sizes, pieces, sections, SVG previews, Excel images, and reports generated from saved data. They do not have permission to perform editing actions such as import, replacement, recalculation, piece edits, section edits, and label moves.

# Model Operations

Operations available after importing project data

Project sizes, pieces, and sections are created by the selected import method.

In Pesipiuma v3, you normally start by importing:

* A **DXF** file, with optional **RUL** grading data.
* **Excel** source files from a supported importer.

After import, use the editor to review and refine sizes, pieces, sections, coefficients, target weight, and report labels.

# Manage Sizes

Review sizes and manage the base size

Sizes are generated by the import method used by the project.

* DXF projects get sizes from the DXF/RUL processing result.
* Excel projects get sizes from the imported Excel files or workbook sheets.

## Switch size

Use the size tabs in the editor toolbar to move between sizes. The selected size controls the pieces, sections, preview, and report labels shown in the editor.

The base size is marked with the **Base** badge.

## Set the base size for Excel projects

For Excel projects, the base size is selected during the **Excel Preview** before confirming the import.

After import, users with edit permissions can also select a size and enable **Base size** in the size toolbar.

{% hint style="info" %}
Target weight and report calculations are relative to the base size.
{% endhint %}

## DXF base size

For DXF projects, the base size comes from the processing result. The editor does not expose a base-size switch for DXF projects.

## Change the size list

To change the size list, replace or recalculate the source data:

* Use **Replace DXF** or **Recalculate pieces** for DXF projects.
* Use **Replace Excel** for Excel projects.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Replacing or recalculating source data can replace the saved size, piece, and section structure. Review the preview carefully before confirming.
{% endhint %}

# Manage Pieces

Adding and configuring the pieces that compose the model

Pieces and sections are created by the selected importer. Use the editor to review the imported structure and refine the values used for report generation.

## Select a piece

1. Open the project editor.
2. Select a size from the size toolbar.
3. Select a piece from the **Pieces List** on the left, or click it in the center preview.

When a piece is selected, the center preview focuses on that piece and the right side shows its sections.

![List of pieces with their sections](/files/6hhRDhMjl4mw1mWYByot)

## Edit a piece

1. Select the piece.
2. Click **Edit Piece** in the preview toolbar, or click the edit icon in the **Pieces List**.
3. Update the available fields.
4. Click **Save**.

You can edit:

* Piece name.
* Coefficient.
* Quantity.
* Weight rounding.
* Section label overlap handling.

The rounding value controls how section weights, piece totals, and size totals are rounded in generated reports.

{% hint style="info" %}
Keep **Update all section coefficients for the piece** enabled when the piece coefficient should also update the section coefficients for that piece.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Enable **Avoid section label overlap** when close section numbers should be moved slightly apart in the preview and report. Leave it off to keep labels at the best central point of each section. Saving this option regenerates the affected DXF piece previews.
{% endhint %}

## Bulk edit pieces

In the all-pieces preview or the **Pieces List**, users with edit permissions can Shift-click pieces and open **Edit details**. If one piece is already open, Shift-clicking another piece includes the open piece in the selection.

Bulk editing can update:

* Coefficient.
* Quantity.
* Weight rounding.
* Whether section coefficients should be updated too.
* DXF section label overlap handling.

Bulk edits apply to matching graded pieces across sizes.

## Edit sections

Select a piece to show its sections on the right side of the editor.

For each section you can edit:

* **Coefficient**.
* **Area**, when the field is editable.
* **Note**.

Section notes appear in the generated report.

## Remove sections

Click the trash icon on a section to remove it from the editor and generated reports.

For DXF projects, Pesipiuma can remove the matching section from all sizes when the piece exists across graded sizes.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Removing a section affects the report output. For DXF projects, use **Recalculate pieces** if you need to rebuild the geometry from the original source files.
{% endhint %}

## Section numbering

Section numbers come from the imported source data.

For Excel importers, prepare source files in the expected order for the selected CAD system. For DXF imports, Pesipiuma detects sections from the processed geometry and lets you review, exclude, or merge them in the DXF Preview before confirming the import.

# Set a Target Weight

Target weight lets you calculate the report from a desired total padding weight for the base size.

The control is available in the [Editor Interface](/en/using-pesipiuma/introduction/editor-interface) after source data has been imported and only for users with edit permissions.

## Enable target weight

1. Open the project editor.
2. In the size toolbar, enable **Target Weight**.
3. Enter the target value in grams in the **Target Weight (g)** field.
4. Press **Enter** or leave the field to save the value.

When target weight is enabled, Pesipiuma calculates report weights relative to the base size. Coefficients are shown as percentages because they represent the scaling used to reach the target weight.

## Disable target weight

To return to normal coefficient-based calculation, turn off the **Target Weight** switch.

When the switch is off, the target weight is saved as `0` and Pesipiuma no longer applies target-weight scaling to the report.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use `100` as the neutral coefficient value when you want a piece or section to follow the target-weight calculation without additional adjustment.

**Example:**

If the model needs a piece to stay lighter than the others, use a coefficient below `100`. If it needs to stay heavier, use a coefficient above `100`. Pesipiuma keeps those proportions while calculating the report from the target weight.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Target weight is relative to the base size. Check that the correct base size is selected before relying on the generated report.
{% endhint %}

# Using the Importers

How to use the importers to import data directly from CAD systems

The Importers significantly speed up the data import phase. To use them effectively you should pay attention to some aspects when exporting from your CAD system.

### Workspace importer availability

Each workspace can enable one or more import methods. Importer availability is managed at workspace level.

{% hint style="info" %}
A project can use either **DXF** or **Excel** import. After the first import, create a new project if you need to use a different import method.
{% endhint %}

# DXF and RUL

Import projects from DXF files and optional RUL grading files

The DXF importer is the main Pesipiuma v3 workflow for creating a project directly from CAD geometry. It reads the pattern pieces from a **.dxf** file, detects the padded sections, creates the size and piece structure in the editor, and generates the report from the processed geometry.

If the model is graded, you can also upload a **.rul** file. The RUL file is optional: when it is not provided, Pesipiuma processes the DXF without grading.

{% hint style="info" %}
The active importers in the workspace are the ones included in the subscribed plan. If you need to add the **DXF** import method, contact support; for Business or Enterprise plans, contact your system administrator.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**DXF piece orientation**

Before exporting or importing the DXF, check the grainline for each padded piece. Pesipiuma uses the grainline to orient SVG previews and the PDF report: pieces are placed with the grainline vertical. If you need a different placement in the report, set the grainline direction accordingly in CAD before exporting the DXF.
{% endhint %}

## Files required

To import a DXF project you need:

* A **.dxf** file containing the model geometry.
* Optionally, a **.rul** file containing the grading rules for the model sizes.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Each project can use one import method. After a project has been imported with DXF, it cannot be switched to Excel import. Create a new project if you need to use a different import method.
{% endhint %}

## Start a DXF project

1. Create or open a project from the Dashboard.
2. If the project is empty, choose **Start with DXF**.
3. If the project already uses DXF, click **Import DXF** or **Replace DXF** in the editor toolbar.
4. In the **Import DXF File** window, drag the files into the upload area or click it to select them.
5. Add the required **.dxf** file and, if available, the optional **.rul** file.
6. Click **Upload files**.

After the upload finishes, Pesipiuma opens the **DXF Preview** before replacing the editor data.

## Review the DXF Preview

The DXF Preview lets you check the detected geometry before saving it to the project.

At the top of the preview you can adjust:

* **DXF processor**: use **Auto** by default, or choose a specific processor profile when the CAD source requires it.
* **Area threshold**: the minimum area, in cm², used to ignore very small detected sections.
* **Default coeff.**: the coefficient assigned to imported pieces before manual editing.
* **Text Annotations**: keep this enabled to import supported DXF text annotations; disable it when imported texts are not useful for the report.
* **Avoid overlap**: enable it when section numbers are very close and need to be separated slightly in the preview and report.

The preview shows one card for each detected piece. Each card contains the piece drawing and the list of detected sections.

Each piece card also lets you refine that single piece:

* Piece **Area threshold**: changes the threshold only for that piece. It can apply to all sizes or only to the selected size.
* **Qty** and **Coeff**: set the starting quantity and coefficient for the piece before confirmation.
* **Avoid overlap**: applies close-label handling only to that piece.

{% hint style="info" %}
If the project has multiple sizes, use the size tabs to inspect them. The base size remains the main size for including or excluding sections and for setting quantities and coefficients. On other sizes you can check the grading result, adjust the piece area threshold, and correct size-specific merges when needed.
{% endhint %}

## Select and merge sections

In the base-size preview you can refine the detected sections before confirming the import:

* Click a section to include or exclude it.
* Hold **Shift** and click sections to merge them into one group.
* Hold **Alt** + **Shift** and click to start a new merge group.

Excluded sections are shown with a red style. Merged groups are shown with matching colors in the drawing and in the section list. Enable the **Stitching** checkbox on a merged group when the sections must count as one area but still show their shared separator as a dashed stitching line in previews and reports.

When a merged group is created on the base size, Pesipiuma tries to apply it to the graded sizes too. If one graded size needs a different correction, use **Shift** on that size to create or edit a merge that applies only to that size.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If a non-base size shows a section-count warning, check that size carefully before confirming. The button beside the size tabs helps you find these cases: a green check means there are no warnings, while an orange icon means there are pieces to review. Click it to temporarily show only the pieces with warnings.
{% endhint %}

## Confirm the import

When the preview is correct, return to the base size and click **Confirm**.

Pesipiuma saves the imported data to the project:

* Sizes are created from the DXF/RUL processing result.
* Pieces are created from the detected pattern pieces.
* Sections are created from the detected padded areas.
* Piece SVG previews are generated automatically.
* The project is marked as a DXF project.

After confirmation you can edit piece names, quantities, coefficients, section coefficients, section notes, and other project data directly in the editor.

## Target weight

After importing a DXF project, you can enable **Target Weight** from the size toolbar.

When target weight is enabled:

* Enter the target weight in grams for the base size.
* Pesipiuma uses that value to calculate report weights relative to the base size.
* Coefficients are shown as percentages because they represent the scaling used to reach the target weight.

Turning the switch off disables target-weight scaling for the project.

## Recalculate pieces

Use **Recalculate pieces** when you need to reread the uploaded DXF/RUL files and rebuild the project geometry.

Before the recalculation starts, Pesipiuma asks for confirmation. The original files are processed again, while the current area threshold, piece or size thresholds, ignored sections, merged sections, stitching options, coefficients, notes, quantities, **Avoid overlap** settings, annotations, and manual label positions are reapplied when possible.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Recalculation replaces the saved sizes, pieces, and sections with the newly processed geometry. Review the preview carefully before confirming.
{% endhint %}

## Open the report

Click **Open Report** to generate a fresh PDF report from the latest saved editor data.

For DXF projects, the report is generated from the processed geometry, the saved piece and section data, the current target-weight setting, and the latest report-ready edits.

Section labels are calculated from the piece geometry. Pesipiuma tries to keep them centered and aligned; when **Avoid overlap** is enabled, it may move only the labels that are too close to each other. Manual label positions set in the editor are used in the PDF too.

## Download or delete the source files

When a DXF file has been uploaded, the file actions menu next to **Replace DXF** lets you:

* **Download DXF+RUL**: download a ZIP archive containing the saved DXF file and the RUL file, if one was uploaded.
* **Reset project data**: delete editor data, preview settings, reports, and generated artifacts while keeping only the uploaded DXF/RUL files so the project can be processed again from zero.
* **Delete DXF** or **Delete DXF+RUL**: remove the uploaded source files from the project.

{% hint style="info" %}
Deleting the uploaded DXF/RUL files does not delete the editor data that has already been saved. To recalculate the geometry, import a new DXF file; report opening also requires a saved geometry snapshot.
{% endhint %}

# Lectra - Modaris

Use the importer for Lectra - Modaris

## 1. Prepare the data using Lectra Modaris

### Extract the piece sections

* Open the model in Modaris and select the first piece to start from. In the following example the BACK piece.

<figure><img src="/files/Sr98dQgyenVBuehIhPF7" alt=""><figcaption><p>Workspace | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

* Extract the first section **starting from the bottom and moving upwards**. This order is essential for correct data export.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only by following this exact extraction order can Pesipiuma correctly import the data.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/EWp38tBjzkD3Z1EPQnMI" alt=""><figcaption><p>Extraction starting from the lowest section of the BACK piece | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

* Once all sections have been extracted they will appear in the lower right part of the workspace ordered from left to right.

<figure><img src="/files/zVg4KhDmKoehNrcZhX0l" alt=""><figcaption><p>Extracted sections positioned at the bottom right of the workspace | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

### Retrieve the section areas

* Open the **Measures sheet** and choose **Area** from the tool palette on the right.
* Set the grid to **Horizontal** and in the *Configure* menu choose **Net Area**.

<div align="center"><img src="/files/Rx63QoLAOo7pC4bz4tgg" alt="Measures sheet - Configure | Modaris V6"></div>

* Click the extracted sections one at a time **starting from the leftmost one** so that they are added to the **Measures sheet** in the same order.

{% hint style="info" %}
On the Modaris workspace the extracted sections are positioned at the bottom right. For a correct export proceed from the first on the left moving rightward. This keeps the order required for importing in Pesipiuma.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/zVg4KhDmKoehNrcZhX0l" alt=""><figcaption><p>Select the sections of the BACK piece starting from the first extracted one | <strong>Modaris V6</strong></p></figcaption></figure>

* After adding all sections to the Measures sheet you will get a table with the areas listed from the first section at the top. **This order allows correct import in Pesipiuma**. If the model is graded the sheet will also contain the measurements for all sizes.

![Areas of the BACK sections shown in the Measures sheet | Modaris V6](/files/gQZ8MHHMpnXLL4nNxvMC)

### Export the data

* Choose **Print/Export file** from the menu and select **Export Data File** (Modaris **V6** and **V7**) or **Text file** (Modaris **V8**) depending on the version in use.
* Select the destination on your computer and type the file name following these rules based on the *Modaris version*:
  1. **For Modaris V6 or V7:** the name must explicitly include the **.xls** extension
  2. **For later versions:** the name must explicitly include the **.csv** extension

{% hint style="success" %}
At this stage you can also manage the *quantity* of the pieces by adding the pound sign (**`#`**) to the .xls or .csv file name. For example, importing a file named **front#2.xls** will assign a quantity of **2** to the **front** piece.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
An Excel compatibility error may appear. Simply ignore it and continue saving the **.xls** or **.csv** file.
{% endhint %}

* Repeat these operations for all pieces to be padded, always **respecting the bottom-to-top extraction order**. When finished you will have as many **.xls** (or **.csv**) files as there are pieces.

### Examples

#### Example: Excel file exported from Modaris V6 in .xls format

In this example exported from Modaris V6 the first row contains the size names. Use the **Lectra v6** importer when importing this file into Pesipiuma.

{% endhint %}

1. Open the project [Editor](/en/using-pesipiuma/introduction/report-editor).
2. Click **Import Excel** for an empty project, or **Replace Excel** for an existing Excel project.
3. In the **Excel files** area, select **Lectra v6** or **Lectra v8** from the importer menu.
4. Drop the exported files into the upload area or click to select them.
5. Optionally add a report image in the **Image** area.
6. Click **Preview**.
7. In the **Excel Preview**, check the header preview and select the base size.
8. Click **Confirm** in the preview.
9. Click **Import**.

The Lectra importer expects one file per piece. Supported formats are **.xls**, **.xlsx**, and **.csv**.

{% hint style="success" %}
The quantity can be included in the file name by adding **`#`** followed by the quantity. For example, importing **front#2.xls** creates the **front** piece with quantity **2**.
{% endhint %}

After import, Pesipiuma creates the sizes, pieces, and sections in the editor. The default coefficient is `100`, the default quantity is read from the file name, and rounding defaults to the tenth of a gram.

At this point you can [edit](/en/using-pesipiuma/preliminary-operations/manage-pieces#edit-a-piece) quantities, coefficients, section notes, and rounding if needed.

For Excel reports, add or replace the [report image](/en/using-pesipiuma/create-a-report/upload-an-image) and [position the labels](/en/using-pesipiuma/create-a-report/place-report-labels) before opening the report.

# Create a Report

Reports are generated from the saved editor data. A project has one **Open Report** action, available from the editor and from project cards when enough data is present.

The editor also provides **Download Excel** to export a workbook with one sheet per size, the section list, and formulas for calculating the total weight.

## DXF reports

For DXF projects, Pesipiuma generates the PDF from:

* Processed DXF geometry.
* Optional RUL grading.
* Saved sizes, pieces, and sections.
* Piece quantities, coefficients, rounding, and notes.
* Section labels and annotation edits.
* Target weight, when enabled.

Click **Open Report** in the editor to save pending edits and open the internal report viewer. The PDF is generated from the latest saved data when the viewer opens.

## Excel reports

For Excel projects, Pesipiuma generates the PDF from:

* Imported Excel area data.
* The selected base size.
* The report image.
* Saved label positions.
* Piece quantities, coefficients, rounding, and notes.
* Target weight, when enabled.

Excel projects need a report image before the report can be generated.

# Report Image

Upload and manage the report image for Excel reports

Excel reports use a report image as the visual base for the PDF. The image usually represents the model pieces or the technical drawing that should receive the weight labels.

The report image is optional during Excel import, but an Excel report cannot be generated until an image is available.

{% hint style="info" %}
DXF reports do not need a report image. They are generated directly from the processed DXF geometry.
{% endhint %}

## Add an image during Excel import

1. Open the editor for an empty project or an Excel project.
2. Click **Import Excel** or **Replace Excel**.
3. In the **Image** area, drop the image file or click to select it.
4. Use **Preview** to check the Excel data and choose the base size.
5. Click **Import**.

Supported image inputs are:

* **.jpg** or **.jpeg**.
* **.png**.
* **.pdf**. Pesipiuma uses the first page.

After the import, the image appears in the editor preview area and can be used for label placement.

## Add or replace an image later

1. Open an Excel project in the editor.
2. Click **Add Image** or **Replace Image** in the top toolbar.
3. Select a supported image file.
4. Confirm the upload.

Pesipiuma normalizes the image for report generation and updates the report orientation from the image proportions when appropriate.

## Report orientation

For Excel projects, use the orientation control in the editor preview toolbar to choose:

* **Landscape**.
* **Portrait**.

The report image and labels are fitted into the selected A4 layout.

{% hint style="warning" %}
After replacing the report image, check label positions again before opening the report.
{% endhint %}

# Place the Labels

Place report labels for Excel and DXF reports

Labels control where section weights, section notes, coefficients, and piece totals appear in the PDF report.

Label behavior depends on the project import method:

* **Excel projects** use labels placed over the uploaded report image.
* **DXF projects** use labels generated from the processed geometry and can store manual label positions for each piece.

## Excel label placement

After importing Excel data and adding a [report image](/en/using-pesipiuma/create-a-report/upload-an-image), the editor shows the image in the center preview.

1. Select the size you want to inspect.
2. Drag section labels to the matching piece areas.
3. Drag the piece total label to the position where the total piece weight should appear.
4. Double-click a piece total label to open the spacing slider for the section labels of that piece.
5. Use the zoom controls when you need more precision.

Label positions are saved as you edit them.

{% hint style="info" %}
Excel label positions are global because the same report image is reused for every size.
{% endhint %}

## DXF label placement

DXF projects generate labels from the processed geometry. To adjust them:

1. Select a size.
2. Select a piece to open its SVG preview.
3. Move the section labels directly in the preview.
4. Use **Apply labels position to all sizes** when the same position inside the piece should be reused across graded sizes.
5. Use **Reset labels** to return the selected piece labels to their generated positions.

{% hint style="warning" %}
DXF label positions are stored as points inside the piece geometry. If you apply them to all sizes, the same position is reused across graded sizes. If you recalculate the project from updated DXF/RUL files, review label positions before generating the report.
{% endhint %}

## Label content

Generated labels can include:

* Section number.
* Section weight.
* Section note.
* Section coefficient when it differs from the piece coefficient.
* Piece name and total piece weight.

The final PDF uses the latest saved label positions and editor data.

# View the Reports

## Open a report from the editor

1. Open the project editor.
2. Check that the project has imported data.
3. For Excel projects, check that a report image is available.
4. Click **Open Report**.

Pesipiuma generates a fresh PDF from the latest saved project data each time the report viewer opens. Users with write access save pending editor changes before opening the viewer; users with read-only access generate the PDF from the data that is already saved.

To download the calculation file, click **Download Excel** in the editor. The file contains one sheet per size and uses saved sections, quantities, coefficients, and Target Weight.

## Open a report from the dashboard

1. Open the Dashboard.
2. Locate the project card.
3. Click **Open Report** on the card or from the card options menu.

The report opens in the internal PDF viewer.

{% hint style="info" %}
Opening a report requires enough saved project data. For Excel projects, a report image is required. For DXF projects, the processed geometry snapshot is required.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you edited project data, open the report from the editor so Pesipiuma can save pending changes before the PDF is generated.
{% endhint %}
